This is just a quick guide to setup grouping on players, using DCMedia Network Manager.

First off, you need to start off with all the players already added to DCMedia Network Manager.

For ease purposes, this guide will use players 1-6 with addresses 1.1.1.1 - 6.6.6.6 (these ip address are purely fictitious, and should never be use in real deployments)

After you have your players added to the network manager, go to File>Configuration>Meta Data Tags

Here you will be prompted to add new tags (you don't need to give them values)

Now you will need to create groups.

These are created by heading into Insert>Group

Once it has loaded the new window, give the group a name (ie. Primary) and then go to add and select a meta-tag that was setup earlier (ie. primary) and give it a value (ie. 1).

The value at the end is given so that the argument reads 'if value =1 then it belongs in the meta-tag group primary'

NOTE: 'primary' is one of the meta-tags that should have been setup earlier. Players can also have multiple meta-tags, and likewise can belong to multiple groups.

Now that you have created the group, all you have to do is populate the groups with the players that you require.

To do this - double click the player > Metadata tab > select the required tag > Modify > select the value (ie. 1)

NOTE: once again the value at the end is given so that the argument reads 'if value =1 then it belongs in the meta-tag group primary'

With that you should now have successfully configured grouping in network manager.
