Most commonly (but not always) our setups consist of a player (a small computer) connected to a screen.

When there is nothing showing on the screen, we generally check the following:

1. Is the screen turned on and on the correct input (screen and player setup only)?

An easy way to check if the screen is on is to use the remote to try and bring up the screen's menu. 

As a first step, try to turn the screen on using the remote, and then try unplugging/switching off at the power and then back on again after 10 seconds.

If the screen is powered up and still blank, check that the input is correct using the remote.

Sometimes changing the input to an incorrect input, and then back to the correct input can get the content to show again.

2. Are all cables firmly connected?

Sometimes a cable can come loose and stop the player from outputting to the screen, devices from powering up, or content being updated.

It can also be worth unplugging, and replugging in the HDMI or DisplayPort cable at the screen and player end.

3. Is the media player is powered on?

Media players are generally designed to run 24/7, but occasionally something goes wrong and they turn off.

As a first step, it is often worth unplugging the media player and then plugging it back in again.

If this doesn't work, then try powering the media player up using the power button on the player.
